I'm always looking for more writers to talk to. I like to motivate and I appreciate others who are good at motivating too. I could use someone to bounce ideas off of and help me figure out plot holes sometimes too.

I write mostly fantasy as well as other speculative fiction about new cultures of my own design that don't involve magic, though lately I've been focusing more on the ideas that involve magic because I've gotten tired of arguing about what genre the other ones fit into. Basically I love world-building. I also love writing stories inspired by fairy tales, whether retellings or just using common tropes.

If there are any fellow NaNoers around here, I'd be up for some word wars too. I'm not competitive at all though so it would just be a "okay, let's write for 10 minutes" "yay, we both wrote stuff! good job, us!"

I can talk through email and I'm on Skype all the time. You can PM me for information on either.

I love talking about writing, talking through characters and plot points and even just getting someone to verify that this sentence I think sounds brilliant isn't actually just the most inane/trite/overwrought thing ever. I also like simple checking in to stay on track. I've only done a simultaneous writing session once, but I enjoyed it.

My current work is...would "speculative realism" just be a nonsense descriptor? There's one supernatural element that I keep very contained within a contemporary earth setting. But most of my future ideas lean more toward fantasy and world building. I write a majority of female characters and tend to write LGBT characters as well.

PM is an easy start, and I can also do email and skype.

I love chatting with other writers! I don't have nearly as much time as I used to, but I'm starting to sort that out. (Turns out working full time is harder than I thought it would be...)

I write fantasy, mostly of the urban variety - the magic just out of sight of normal life. I do have one novel that's a little closer to High Fantasy, but in vaguely neo-victorian kind of way. I tend to spend too much time trying to figure out how things work.

I have not done word wars, but it might be interesting to try.

A fellow writer would be a great asset to my situation. Ideally, I'd like to be able to get opinions and reactions to bits of writing or plot pieces. Mostly, this wonderful person should be someone interested in writing, as I am, and not strictly hung up on the genre. My philosophy is that good writing shines through and isn't limited to a specific type, i.e. fanfic, historical, fantasy, etc.

My purpose in writing is to have fun, entertain myself and possibly others and maybe even impart some of the small amount of wisdom I've gained in Life.

Benefits to anyone willing to contact me about this would be reciprocation and also, I am a pretty good beta (English degree). I'm very laid back but take my writing as a fairly serious hobby in which I excel.

I'd be happy to team up with anyone who has replied to this general post about writing buddies.
